2011 Finalists

The Willamette Angel Conference announced the finalist companies for its 2011 investment competition. The companies will compete May 12th at the Oregon State University CH2MHILL Alumni Center and the winner will receive an estimated $200,000 angel investment prize.

The following companies were selected to deliver ten-minute business plan pitches:

Rowan Greenhouse Technologies, Inc. (Corvallis, OR) is in the greenhouse irrigation controller market with an innovative technology system that integrates advanced controller design, wireless device networking and cloud computing.

Enuresys (Portland, OR) patented solution utilizes radio frequency identification (RFID) sensors inserted into incontinence briefs. When an incontinence event occurs, quick detection of RFID sensors will ensure the resident/patient is disturbed only when necessary and will mitigate serious incontinence-related injury.

Montrue Technologies, Inc. (Ashland, OR) developed an emergency department information entry system for the iPad, solving the problem of how to get critical data into electronic form as required by recent legislation. The idea promises to offer hospitals a profound return on their investment.

OpenSesame (Portland, OR) plans to be an online marketplace that makes purchasing an elearning course as easy as downloading a song from iTunes for both users and providers.

Indow(tm) Windows (Portland, OR) are easy-to-install, thermal window inserts that press into place on the inside of a window frame with no nails, screws, or adhesives. Indow Windows deliver double pane window performance at a fraction of the cost.

Ignite-style Finalists

Five additional finalists were chosen for the Ignite-style and wildcard pitch portion of the event. These companies each have 3 minutes to pitch with 3 slides. This part of the event is fast moving and high energy. After all the wildcard presentations have been delivered, the audience will conduct a text by mobile phone vote for a winner to move onto the 10 minute round and compete for a chance at the approximately $200,000 investment.

TCM Holdings Inc. (Portland, OR) provides second chance financing opportunities for non-prime credit customers that wish to buy limited edition collectible products and build credit.

M3 Wave Energy Systems LLC (Corvallis, OR) is commercializing a submerged wave energy device that harnesses ocean power while minimizing stakeholder impact and enhancing survivability.

Flash Sensor Technologies, Inc. brings fast, automated medical diagnostics into the physician’s office. Instead of vials of blood and days of waiting, FST’s system will need only a drop of blood to provide accurate results in minutes, right in your doctor’s office.

VisiRay Inc. (Eugene, OR) has revolutionary camera that can see through walls and produce a clear 3D image of what’s hidden inside; it outperforms any competitive device.

Oh! Shoes, LLC (Portland, OR) is changing the world of women's footwear with the creation of the first technology driven healthy and fashionable high heeled shoe.

The 2011 Willamette Angel Conference was the 3rd annual Willamette Angel Conference, which is modeled after successful similar events run by the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network in Portland, and the Bend Venture Conference. The Willamette Angel Conference is a partnership between the Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition and the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce. The inaugural event was held May 14th, 2009 in Corvallis, Oregon.
